How long should I wait between eyebrow shaping appointments?

The time between eyebrow shaping appointments can vary depending on your individual hair growth rate and the preferred look you’re trying to achieve. In general, most people benefit from scheduling an appointment every 4-6 weeks. This allows enough time for the brow hair to grow out a bit, making it easier for the artists to shape the brows without removing too much hair. However, if you prefer a more defined look or have fast-growing hair, you may need to schedule appointments more frequently. Ultimately, it’s best to consult with your aesthetician, who can recommend a schedule that works best for you based on your needs and personal brow goals.

Eyebrow waxing or eyebrow threading?

Waxing and threading are two common methods for shaping eyebrows. Waxing is a fast and efficient method that is ideal for normal to oily skin types while threading is ideal for those with sensitive skin or those using active ingredient skin care. This method uses a thin thread that is twisted to pull and remove hair from the root. While both methods can cause some discomfort, they are generally safe and effective for eyebrow shaping. Ultimately, the decision between waxing and threading may come down to personal preference and pain tolerance.

What causes ingrown facial hairs?

Ingrown hairs are a common problem that can occur when the hair is not fully removed, causing it to break on its way out. They happen when the hair grows back into the skin instead of up and out of the follicle. This can be caused by several factors, including improper technique, pulling the hair too aggressively, or using dirty tools that can introduce bacteria to the area. Additionally, those with curly or coarse hair are more prone to ingrown hairs. To help prevent ingrown hairs, it’s important to use proper techniques when shaping the brows and to keep the area clean and free from bacteria. Regular exfoliation can also help to remove dead skin cells and prevent hair from becoming trapped under the skin. If you experience frequent ingrown hairs, it’s best to consult with your aesthetician, who can recommend personalized tips and treatment options to help you manage this issue.

How to reduce redness after your eyebrow shaping appointment.

Reduce after eyebrow shaping is a common side effect that can be caused by the removal of hair from the skin. To reduce redness and soothe the skin after shaping, there are several things you can do:

  1. Apply a cold compress: Placing a cold, damp cloth or ice pack over the brow area can help to reduce inflammation and soothe the skin.
  2. Use aloe vera: Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce redness and soothe the skin. Apply a small amount of aloe vera gel to the brow area and gently massage it in.
  3. Avoid makeup: To allow the skin to breathe and heal, it’s best to avoid wearing makeup around the brow area for at least 24 hours after shaping.
  4. Avoid touching the area: Touching or rubbing the brow area can further irritate the skin and make the redness worse. Try to avoid touching the area and keep your hands away from your face.
  5. Apply a gentle moisturizer: A gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer can help to hydrate the skin and reduce redness. Look for a product that’s specifically formulated for sensitive skin.

Remember, redness after eyebrow shaping is normal and should subside within a few hours to a day. If you experience prolonged redness or other signs of irritation, like itching or swelling, it’s best to consult with your esthetician, who can recommend personalized tips and treatment options to help soothe your skin.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate for brow lamination?

Brow lamination is a quick and effective way to have your eyebrows looking fuller instantly. While there are many people who can benefit from lamination, there are some who may not be ideal candidates for this service. Those who may not benefit from this service are:

  • Brows with very coarse and textured hair
  • Pregnant and breastfeeding
  • Those with very sparse patchy brows
  • Brows that have been lightened or bleached previously
  • Those currently using retinols, Accutane, AHAs, BHAs, salicylic acid or glycolic acid
  • Very sensitive skin types
  • Skin that is currently experiencing active acne or an eczema flare up
  • Those who don’t love the look of a fluffy brow or feel like their brows may already feel too big

How do I know if I’m a good candidate for lash lifts?

There is a myth about lash lifts and it’s believed that you can only have one done if you have long lashes. This could not be further from the truth! Lash lifts can make even the shortest lashes appear longer while creating an eye-opening effect that adds instant lift to the eyes. There are only a handful of reasons why you may not be a good candidate for lash lifts;

  • You feel like a lash lift may not be enough drama for you
  • You are claustrophobic and can’t keep your eyes closed for long periods of time
  • You may have experienced damage caused by eyelash extensions or eyelash curlers and need some time to grow them out
  • You currently have lash extensions and are in the process of getting rid of them

Do I need long eyelashes for lash lifts?

You absolutely do not need long eyelashes to benefit from a lash lift! Lash lifts do not discriminate; even the tiniest and straightest lashes can be curled! There is something to be said though about the drama that long lashes provide when they are given a new curl. This is not something that you have naturally, simply using a lash serum for just a few months can make enough of a difference to your lashes to have you ditching that new tube of mascara.

What services should I book if I want fuller-looking eyebrows?

Brows come in many different shapes and sizes and we offer eyebrow services for all types. Some are wide, some dense with hair and some barely there. It’s true that we can only work with what we have, but how can we make what we have look like more?

  • Brow tinting will add density to sparse brows and provide semi-permanent colour to light hair
  • Brow lamination can provide instant fluffiness by allowing the hairs to stay up with little to no effort
  • Brow waxing is also a great way to give brows a fuller look by creating sharp lines and making sense of new growth so they can be incorporated into your current brow styling routine
